What is Escape the City?
Escape the City is a mobile outdoor escape game. Many know the principle from the escape room: solve puzzles as a team, combine clues, crack codes and work together against the clock. Only here it does not happen in a closed room, but outdoors – the entire city centre becomes the playing field.
Teams are guided by a game app on a tablet that leads them step by step through the mission. There is no fixed room, no setup and no prior knowledge needed: each team gets its tablet, and off you go. Fresh-air movement meets brainwork – exactly the mix that bonds a team.

Regensburg is considered Germany's best-preserved medieval city – declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site ("Old town of Regensburg with Stadtamhof") in 2006. Around 960 listed buildings crowd into just 1.8 km²: patrician castles with their typical family towers, narrow lanes and wide squares. The Romans founded the legionary camp Castra Regina here in 179 AD – the Porta Praetoria still stands today.
The landmarks are the Stone Bridge – completed around 1146, once marvelled at as the "eighth wonder of the world" and Germany's oldest surviving stone arch bridge – and St Peter's Cathedral, the only French cathedral Gothic east of the Rhine. In between sits the Old Town Hall, where the Perpetual Imperial Diet convened from 1663 to 1803. Each of these places can become a puzzle station.
And Regensburg has a trump card: across the Stone Bridge your team reaches Stadtamhof on the far side of the Danube in just a few steps. And right at the bridgehead waits the historic Wurstkuchl, one of the oldest cookshops in the world – a detail that can even be woven into the story on request.

1 · The story
A toxic cloud spreads over Regensburg. Your team slips into the role of scientists who escaped the disaster lab – now you must produce the antidote and save the city.
2 · The game
In small teams you follow clues through the old town via the tablet, evaluate hints and crack puzzles. Movement and brainwork alternate – every solved task brings you closer to the antidote.
3 · The support
Experienced team guides set up the game and are reachable by chat and phone throughout the event. You have nothing to worry about except solving.
4 · The finale
Together against the clock: whoever completes the mission in time saves the city. At the end the winning team is crowned – a moment you'll still talk about over the closing get-together.
