Christmas party with a programme
Christmas Party in Regensburg
From strolling the Christmas market to a real team experience – six proven formats from €35.95 per person.
The Christmas market as a backdrop
The Romantic Christmas Market is held in the courtyard of Schloss Thurn und Taxis, lit by thousands of candles, lanterns and torches against the palace façade. The princely palace garden is otherwise closed to the public and opens only for this market.
That is exactly what makes Regensburg a good place for a Christmas party that amounts to more than a buffet and a speech: the atmosphere is there anyway, you only have to use it. We bring the programme – outdoors at the grounds of Schloss Thurn und Taxis or indoors in the warm, whichever suits your group.
Regensburg has one of the best-preserved medieval old towns in Germany — the Stone Bridge, the cathedral and the lanes all lie close together. For teams from eastern Bavaria it is the central point, and the setting turns a rally into a city tour along the way.

Outdoors
The Christmas Rallye leads your teams through the city centre with tablets, with stops at the grounds of Schloss Thurn und Taxis. New this season: battlespots, where two teams meet and compete head to head. Rettet Weihnachten is the outdoor escape variant.
Indoors in the warm
Beat the Red Box is an escape game at the table – it needs nothing but a room and works for up to 500 people. The Christmas Quiz Show with a host is the version where everyone can stay seated.
Hands-on
With gingerbread house building you compete in small teams – and the houses go home with you. With Christmas Domino, thousands of tiles become one shared picture that falls in a chain reaction at the end.
Planning on the ground
On the location: Because the market sits on the palace grounds and charges admission, plan it as a separate item on the programme. For the event itself we use the old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the room: Regensburg's old town has historic restaurants and vaults that take groups. The indoor formats need a room with tables; Beat the Red Box and the Christmas Quiz Show run in your own canteen just as well.
On the running order: The programme belongs at the beginning, not the end. After dinner and the second mulled wine you will not get anyone moving – beforehand everyone is open to it, and the meal afterwards tastes better once it has been earned.
On the date: The weeks from late November through December are the busiest of the year, and Fridays go first. Plan early and you have the run of the calendar – more on that in our article planning your Christmas party early.
On getting there: IC/ICE stop Regensburg Hbf, 1.5h from Munich, 2h from Nuremberg
Where to eat afterwards in Regensburg
Catering is not included in our event prices – you plan that separately. These places are set up for groups:
Historische Wurstkuchl
Brauereigasthof Bischofshof
Leerer Beutel
Frequently asked questions about a Christmas party in Regensburg
Can we include the Christmas market at Schloss Thurn und Taxis?
As an item afterwards, yes. The market is on the palace grounds and charges admission, so we put the event itself in the old town. The combination works well: first the rally through the World Heritage centre, then the market in the palace courtyard.
What does a Christmas party with a programme in Regensburg cost?
The Christmas formats start at €35.95 per person. The Christmas Rallye is €39.95 pp, Beat the Red Box €44.95 pp. Those are pure event prices – you plan the venue and catering separately. The larger the group, the lower the price per head.
How many people can take part?
The Christmas Rallye, Beat the Red Box and the Christmas Quiz Show are designed for up to 500 people. Rettet Weihnachten runs with up to 200 participants, gingerbread house building with up to 100.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The outdoor formats go ahead in almost any weather – what matters is warm clothing and sturdy shoes. If you want complete certainty, choose an indoor format: Beat the Red Box, the Christmas Quiz Show or gingerbread house building.
When should we book?
As early as possible. Dates in late November and December are in high demand, and Fridays go first. Enquire in summer or early autumn and you have a free choice of both dates and formats.
Can the event be run in English?
Yes. Around a quarter of our events run in English – tablets, task texts and the on-site team all switch over. Mixed groups work too: teams can play in different languages within the same event.
Where exactly does the event take place in Regensburg?
The outdoor formats start from an agreed meeting point in the city centre, usually near the grounds of Schloss Thurn und Taxis. For the indoor formats you need a room – your own canteen, a meeting room or a rented space is entirely sufficient.
