Christmas party with a programme
Christmas Party in Hanover
From strolling the Christmas market to a real team experience – six proven formats from €35.95 per person.
The Christmas market as a backdrop
Hannover has the largest Christmas market in Lower Saxony. It runs through the old town down to the banks of the Leine, and on Ballhofplatz the Finnish Christmas Village forms a section of its own, with a Lapland tent, log cabin, flame-grilled salmon and glögi — a Scandinavian island in the middle of the half-timbered setting.
That is exactly what makes Hanover a good place for a Christmas party that amounts to more than a buffet and a speech: the atmosphere is there anyway, you only have to use it. We bring the programme – outdoors around the Marktkirche, Ballhofplatz and the banks of the Leine or indoors in the warm, whichever suits your group.
Hannover is a trade fair city at the intersection of the main north-south and east-west routes; for distributed teams it is often the place with the shortest total journey. The main station is under ten minutes on foot from the old town, which simplifies the running of a Christmas party considerably.

Outdoors
The Christmas Rallye leads your teams through the city centre with tablets, with stops around the Marktkirche, Ballhofplatz and the banks of the Leine. New this season: battlespots, where two teams meet and compete head to head. Rettet Weihnachten is the outdoor escape variant.
Indoors in the warm
Beat the Red Box is an escape game at the table – it needs nothing but a room and works for up to 500 people. The Christmas Quiz Show with a host is the version where everyone can stay seated.
Hands-on
With gingerbread house building you compete in small teams – and the houses go home with you. With Christmas Domino, thousands of tiles become one shared picture that falls in a chain reaction at the end.
Planning on the ground
On the location: The old town around the Marktkirche, Kramerstraße and Ballhofplatz is narrow and winding. Good for rally stops, awkward for large groups meant to stay together — better to split into teams and agree a fixed end point.
On the room: Around the old town and the centre there are brewery taverns and restaurants that take groups, plus the conference hotels near the trade fair grounds. The indoor formats need a space with tables — many companies simply use their own canteen and head into town afterwards.
On the running order: The programme belongs at the beginning, not the end. After dinner and the second mulled wine you will not get anyone moving – beforehand everyone is open to it, and the meal afterwards tastes better once it has been earned.
On the date: The weeks from late November through December are the busiest of the year, and Fridays go first. Plan early and you have the run of the calendar – more on that in our article planning your Christmas party early.
On getting there: ICE rail hub, Hannover Hbf centrally located

Frequently asked questions about a Christmas party in Hanover
What is the Finnish Christmas Village in Hannover?
A section of the Christmas market on Ballhofplatz laid out in Scandinavian style — with a Lapland tent, log cabin, flame-grilled salmon and glögi instead of the usual market stalls. For a Christmas Rallye it makes a rewarding end point: the place has a character of its own, and the group recognises it even if it has only been described once.
What does a Christmas party with a programme in Hanover cost?
The Christmas formats start at €35.95 per person. The Christmas Rallye is €39.95 pp, Beat the Red Box €44.95 pp. Those are pure event prices – you plan the venue and catering separately. The larger the group, the lower the price per head.
How many people can take part?
The Christmas Rallye, Beat the Red Box and the Christmas Quiz Show are designed for up to 500 people. Rettet Weihnachten runs with up to 200 participants, gingerbread house building with up to 100.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The outdoor formats go ahead in almost any weather – what matters is warm clothing and sturdy shoes. If you want complete certainty, choose an indoor format: Beat the Red Box, the Christmas Quiz Show or gingerbread house building.
When should we book?
As early as possible. Dates in late November and December are in high demand, and Fridays go first. Enquire in summer or early autumn and you have a free choice of both dates and formats.
Can the event be run in English?
Yes. Around a quarter of our events run in English – tablets, task texts and the on-site team all switch over. Mixed groups work too: teams can play in different languages within the same event.
Where exactly does the event take place in Hanover?
The outdoor formats start from an agreed meeting point in the city centre, usually near the Marktkirche, Ballhofplatz and the banks of the Leine. For the indoor formats you need a room – your own canteen, a meeting room or a rented space is entirely sufficient.
