Since 2001, we have been organizing team events all across Germany. In 25 years, more than 100,000 participants have played, puzzled, laughed and occasionally cursed with us. Many formats came and went – trends shifted, technology changed everything, a pandemic shut down entire industries. But five events have stuck around. They have shaped us, they have shaped our customers, and they are more popular today than ever.
1. XXL Chain Reaction – When Everything Comes Together at the End
The XXL Chain Reaction is the event with the most spectacular finale we offer. Each team builds its own section – with marble runs, domino effects, ramps, tunnels and whatever the workshop has on hand. Sounds simple, but it isn't: the individual sections must connect at the end, otherwise the chain stops.
What has made this event so special for years is exactly that moment just before the big launch. Everyone stands around, each team hopes their handover works, and no one dares to breathe. Then the first stone falls – and either the wave runs through the entire room, or it gets stuck somewhere in the middle. Both are okay. Both create an experience that teams keep talking about long after.
From €44.95 per person · 20–500 people · 2–3 hours · indoor & outdoor.
2. GPS City Rally – The All-Rounder That Transforms Any City
The GPS City Rally is our most-booked event – and not without reason. Available in over 50 cities, it combines sightseeing, team challenges and modern tablet technology. Teams set off in small groups, navigate through the city using our app, solve location-based tasks and collect points.
What still impresses us after all these years: even colleagues who have worked in a city for years suddenly discover corners they have never seen. The City Rally works just as well for 10 people as for 500 – and we have run it in almost every major German city. It's proof that a good event doesn't have to be loud to leave an impression.
From €44.95 per person · 10–500 people · 2–3 hours · city center.
3. Escape the Forest – When the Woods Become the Game Board
Escape rooms have been a trend for years – but sitting indoors while the sun shines outside? Not our thing. With Escape the Forest, we brought the format to where we believe it belongs: into nature. Teams take on the role of explorers, search for hidden stations, evaluate clues and decode puzzles – right in the middle of the woods.
The exciting part of this event: it brings colleagues together who barely interact at work. The IT colleague who prefers to work alone and the salesperson who usually sets the tone suddenly have to crack a code together. And they do – because the forest doesn't care about hierarchies. Important for participants: bring suitable clothing and sturdy shoes.
From €44.95 per person · 10–200 people · 2–3 hours · forest/nature.
4. Crime Challenge – The Detective Game for Grown-Ups
In the Crime Challenge, a mysterious criminal case is solved – outdoors in the city center, with real clues, false leads and a plot that only comes together piece by piece. Teams investigate, question, combine and must finally identify the culprit.
What sets this event apart from many other escape formats is the story. It's not about racing from A to B as quickly as possible, but about thinking together, interpreting clues and getting drawn into a narrative. That's exactly why the same customers book it again and again – once a detective, always a detective.
From €39.95 per person · 10–200 people · 2–3 hours · outdoor in the city center.
5. Beat the Box – The Classic That Never Needs the Weather
Beat the Box was one of the first indoor formats we offered in this form – and to this day it works better than anything else we have tried in this category. A mysterious aluminum box, multiple story scenarios to choose from – from a hacker attack to a bank heist to a secret spy mission – many small puzzles and a clock that ticks relentlessly. Teams have to crack the codes before time runs out.
The reason Beat the Box never disappears from our program: it's the event that always works. Whether in a conference hotel, in your own company, or outside under the open sky – the boxes work everywhere. And the moment when a team cracks the final code after almost two hours of head-scratching is worth its weight in gold every single time.
From €44.95 per person · 10–500 people · 2 hours · indoor & outdoor.
What These Five Events Have in Common
When I look back over 25 years at these five formats, one thing strikes me: they are not just fun activities. They are experiences with substance. Every one of these events has a shared goal at its core – a construction, a mission, a puzzle, a case. No one plays along on the side. Everyone has to pitch in, think, contribute. That is exactly what makes the difference between "we had a team event" and "we're still talking about it six months later".
That is the most important lesson from 25 years of anydoors: the best team events are the ones that don't just keep teams busy, but truly connect them. And that doesn't require a huge budget, an unusual location or any gimmicks. It requires a good idea, a well-rehearsed team in the background – and people who are eager to experience something together.
We're looking forward to the next 25 years.
